For more than three decades, I have served in law enforcement at both the local and federal levels. My most recent service, as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) with a United States Office of Inspector General, I spent 15 years in executive leadership where I directed teams of investigators across multiple states and leading complex criminal investigations involving millions of taxpayer dollars. I worked alongside those I directed. This was hands-on work, not sitting behind a desk.


My responsibilities were not limited to supervision. I was entrusted with:

  • Managing large-scale criminal investigations

  • Hiring, recruiting, and personnel development

  • Writing and implementing training and operational policy

  • Stewarding and justifying multi-million-dollar budgets

  • Ensuring transparency and accountability at the highest levels of government


This is the level of leadership Central needs in its next Chief of Police. No other candidate in this race has my level of executive leadership experience, education, and national-level law enforcement management.


Training, Standards, and Officer Readiness


From 2004 to 2024, I served as a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center certified Firearms Instructor, responsible for ensuring agents were prepared to perform under the most demanding circumstances.


In addition, I:

  • Served as a Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (Simunitions) Instructor

  • Completed advanced marksmanship and instructor development schools

  • Completed formal law enforcement leadership programs

  • Drafted and implemented firearms and training policies

  • Set qualification standards and accountability measures

  • Planned, organized and deployed quarterly, semi-annual and annual training conferences


Training is not a line item to me. It is a responsibility. I have spent two decades ensuring officers were not only qualified, but prepared.


Locally and Nationally Recognized Investigative Leadership


Excellence was not theoretical in my career. It was measurable. From the very beginning, I held positions of leadership. I was the Class President of my Criminal Investigator Training Program class at FLETC and earned top marks in firearms. I consistently earned Outstanding annual performance ratings. I performed peer reviews of other federal agencies, insuring that compliance with federal law enforcement standards were upheld and help lead investigations when they were not.

I am:

  • A two-time National Investigator of the Year award recipient through the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association

  • A two-time National Award for Excellence recipient through the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency

  • An Investigation of the Year Award recipient from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association

  • A recipient of multiple Inspector General awards for investigative excellence


More importantly, I led teams of agents who themselves earned national recognition. Because leadership is about elevating others.


Leadership Under Pressure


My career required:

  1. Leadership under pressure. Leading agents during major investigations and disaster response operations, always leading from the front.

  2. Budget and resource stewardship. Managing millions in federal funds with transparency and efficiency

  3. Policy development and standards enforcement. Building systems that protect integrity, ensured efficiency and maximized officer safety

  4. Integrity and accountability. Holding myself and my teams to the highest professional and ethical standards


These are the same executive functions a Chief of Police performs every day.


Local Roots. Federal Experience. Community Heart.


Before federal service, I began my career as a police officer in March 1991, right here in East Baton Rouge Parish.That is where I learned that policing is about neighbors protecting neighbors. It is about unity. It is about investing in youth.


I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1992.


I was a POST certified police officer, earning top marks in my POST class for the highest scholastic average, as well as serving as the Class Historian. I mentored and trained youth through the Baker Police Cadets, leading them to win annual competitions in Texas two years running. I was the Reserve Coordinator (formerly Reserve Captain), responsible for ensuring the standards and compliance of 35-active Baker Police Reserves, including training officers and scheduling and deploying resources at school and community events, such as Baker High football and basketball games, the Baker Little League Parade, the Baker Christmas Parade and the Baker Buffalo Festival. Under my leadership as Reserve Coordinator, these events were completely coordinated and handled by the Reserve Division, requiring minimal resources from shift officers and generating no overtime costs to the department.


Federal service gave me the tools to manage large teams, complex operations, and major budgets. Local service taught me visibility, approachability, and community trust.


Through years of service and outreach with Journey Church, my commitment to people, faith, and community has only deepened.

As Chief of Police, I will bring:

  1. Executive-level leadership experience ready on day one
